Style Compatibility
Wabi-sabi / Japanese Style: Handwritten or calligraphy fonts + warm yellow tubes + micro-cement walls for a simple and healing atmosphere.
Minimalist / Modern Style: Sans-serif fonts + warm white tubes + light gray art paint walls for a clean visual presentation.
Retro Industrial Style: Aged iron letter shells + cool white tubes + cement walls for a textured contrast of roughness and refinement.

Design Concept

  • Backlit tube illuminated signs take "atmosphere first, texture as the foundation" as the core design logic. Different from the high-bright front-lit signs, they focus more on soft diffused light and emotional creation of space. Serving as both visual lines and light sources, the tubes are combined with textured letter faces to deliver a dual effect: "a textured sign by day and an ambient light source at night". It meets the needs of modern stores for a relaxing, premium look and clear brand recognition.

Structure & Material Analysis

  • Letter Shell
Material: Black iron art, matte stainless steel paint, high-density acrylic, etc. Matte or fine textured finish is applied on the surface to avoid reflective interference.
Craft: Laser cutting or hand forging. Letter thickness is controlled at 5–15 mm, ensuring three-dimensionality while allowing light to overflow naturally from the edges or back of the letters.

  •

    Lighting System
Core: LED neon tubes or linear waterproof light strips are adopted as light sources. The tubes themselves become part of the visual lines and echo the letter shape.
Color Temperature: Warm yellow (2700K–3000K) for cozy cafes and Japanese restaurants; warm white (3500K–4000K) for minimalist beauty salons and boutiques; cool white (5000K and above) for industrial-style stores.

  •

    Mounting Structure
Installation: Wall-mounted or suspended with hidden brackets. Black decorative end caps are fitted at both ends of the tubes to keep neat lines.
Gap: The spacing between letter shell and tubes is kept at 1–3 cm for even light diffusion, forming a soft halo on the wall and enriching spatial layers.

Application Scenarios

Catering: Specialty coffee shops, bakeries, Japanese izakayas for a relaxing "third space".

Beauty Industry: Nail & lash studios, skincare centers, designer hair salons to highlight premium quality and professionalism.

Retail: Designer boutiques, streetwear multi-brand stores, cultural and creative shops to strengthen brand aesthetic recognition.

Studios: Photography, design and floral studios for an image combining professionalism and aesthetics.

Dual Experience for Day & Night

Daytime: The matte letter shell acts as a space identifier. Stroke details of the font (flying tails of handwritten scripts, sharp lines of sans-serif fonts) are clearly visible to convey brand tonality.

Nighttime: When the tubes are lit, soft light spills out from the back or edges of the letters and creates a gradient halo on the wall. It guarantees recognizability without harsh glare, building a warm and relaxing vibe.

Key Points for Design Optimization

    • Fonts shall be consistent with the brand VI system to avoid style disconnection.
    • Tube length shall precisely match the total width of the letters, with a 5–10 cm margin reserved at both ends for visual balance.
    • Micro-cement, art paint and other textured wall materials are recommended to better set off the halo effect of illuminated letters.
    • Circuit routing shall be planned in advance and concealed to prevent exposed wires from ruining the overall appearance.
