RIHAN HEIGHTS Wayfinding and Signage System

2026-04-01

Project Positioning: A high-end mixed-use property in Dubai, UAE, integrating residential, commercial, and supporting facilities

Design Focus: Combining “modern geometric sculpture” with “multilingual functional guidance” to create a landmark wayfinding system that is both visually impactful and highly practical

Wayfinding and Signage System Design Description

I. Design Philosophy

Centered on the concept of “landmark storytelling through modern geometry,” the wayfinding system echoes the contemporary architectural style of the project. Through sculptural geometric forms and high-saturation colors, signage panels are transformed into visual focal points at building entrances. Bilingual design in Arabic and English caters to local usage scenarios, conveying a high-end and modern brand tone.

II. Core Design Features

Sculptural Visual Language

Outdoor signage adopts irregular geometric cut-out shapes, creating a “crystal-like origami” sculptural effect that breaks away from traditional flat signage forms, serving as visual landmarks at the complex’s entrances.

Different buildings are distinguished by high-saturation color coding: red for Building A, orange for Building B, green for Building C, and purple for Building E. The colors contrast sharply with the white curtain walls and glass of the buildings, significantly enhancing recognizability.

Multilingual and Hierarchical Information

All signage features bilingual labeling in Arabic and English (Arabic above, English below), in line with local usage habits and serving visitors from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Clear Information Hierarchy:

Outdoor Landmarks: Oversized letters (A/B/C/E) paired with building-specific colors enable quick identification of different buildings.

Entrance Signage: Illuminated “RIHAN HEIGHTS” lettering and metal signage reinforce the project’s brand identity.

Indoor Functional Signs: Simple “folded paper” shapes label functional areas (e.g., “Waste Room”), continuing the outdoor geometric language.

Material and Craftsmanship Local Adaptability

Outdoor Signage: Made primarily from weather-resistant aluminum panels with fluorocarbon coating, suitable for Dubai’s high-temperature and sandy climate. Some signs incorporate wooden panels (e.g., for Buildings C/D) to add warmth and create a material contrast with the modern architecture.

Indoor Signage: Utilizes acrylic with UV printing. The “folded paper” forms are achieved through heat bending or assembly, ensuring durability and visual consistency with the outdoor design.

Efficient Navigation Through Color Coding

High-saturation colors (red, orange, green, purple) not only differentiate buildings but also create visual memory points, allowing visitors to quickly locate target areas within the complex and improving navigation efficiency. The color system also enhances the project’s modern artistic feel and high-end appeal.

III. Materials and Craftsmanship

Outdoor Components: Weather-resistant aluminum panels + laser cutting + fluorocarbon coating, ensuring structural stability and resistance to wind and sand erosion.

Indoor Signage: Acrylic with UV printing + heat bending, offering simplicity, practicality, and visual consistency.

Text Craftsmanship: Screen printing + UV curing, ensuring clarity and color adhesion for bilingual text.

Ⅳ. Functional Value

Landmark Enhancement: Sculptural signage serves as visual focal points within the complex, elevating the project’s brand recognition and premium quality.

Experience Optimization: Color coding and bilingual design enable visitors of different language backgrounds to navigate efficiently, enhancing the spatial experience.

Style Consistency: The geometric visual language, applied from outdoor to indoor spaces, integrates seamlessly with the project’s modern architectural style, forming a cohesive brand visual system.
